The name of the poet is William Butler Yeats. He was an Irish poet, dramatist and prose writer. He was a well-known figure of 20th century English Literature. He was one of the founders of Abbey Theatre. He was a driving force behind the Irish Literary Revival. His partners in this direction were Lady Gregory and Edward Martyn. William Butler Yeats was born in 13th June, 1865 in Sandymount, Ireland. His father was John Butler Yeats and mother Susan Mary Pollexfen were both from an established family. His family members were the lover of arts and cultures. WB Yeats was educated both in Ireland and London. He was a protestant and Anglo-Irish community. He studied poetry from early age.
Yeats had a lifelong interest in mysticism, spiritualism, occultism and astrology.He read extensively on the subjects throughout his life. He became a member of the Paranormal Research Organisation, " The Ghost Club" and he was impressed and influenced by the writings of Emanuel Swedenborg. Thus mysticism played a great role in his literary life.

Here the poet describes that Peter Gilligan, the Parish priest is much tired and fatigued for giving continuous physical service to his needy dying persons who are in their beds and struggling for survival. The duties and responsibilities of Gilligan have increased so much that he gets no moments for short leisure. For his continuous attendance to the dying persons to purify their way of salvation with holy hymns, the priest is extremely tired and under the heavy depression of mind.
